Our Beliefs
We believe in one God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit--Creator of all things who is all knowing, and all powerful, everywhere present, whose eternal Spirit fills the earth, every fiber of the atmosphere, all of heaven and all of space. As Paul has said, "In Him we live move and have our being."
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was God manifest in human flesh, Who for the love of the world came down from heaven, took on human flesh, and became Man to save sinners and reconcile the entire world and all nations to Himself. He is the only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. His birth and identity were foretold by Isaiah: "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isa. 9:6-7)
The Lord Jesus Christ was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, was buried. He descended into Hades bringing salvation to those who proceeded Him in faith, was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now enthroned in heaven as true God and true man. All authority has now been given to Him in Heaven and on Earth. From here He shall come again to judge both the living and the dead according to their deeds, and His kingdom will have no end. (Ephes 4:7-10,1 Peter 3:19,4:6)
We believe in the resurrection of the dead; the resurrection of the saved unto life, and the resurrection of the lost unto damnation.
We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct. We believe that the invitation to "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2: 38) is extended to everyone who desires salvation.
We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ applied to those who in faith and true repentance yield their lives to His guidance, dominion and Lordship.
We believe that Jesus called all those who would be His disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him. We believe that Jesus came to set us free from sin and make us servants and sons of God-those who are led by His Holy Spirit.
We believe that the physical body of the believer, as well as the corporate gathering of believers, is His holy temple. We believe in becoming partakers of the New Covenant, through the removal of the stony heart and a new birth through which we receive a new heart engraved with God's commandments, and a new nature made after the image and likeness of Christ. The evidence and marks of this new birth will be personal holiness, purity of heart and life, and good works that are the result of faith.
We believe that water baptism is the New Covenant sign of circumcision. As Paul explains, "When you came to Christ, you were 'circumcised,' but not by a physical procedure. It was a spiritual procedure--the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to a new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." (Colossians 2:11-12)
We believe in sanctification and transformation of the believer through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit. As the scripture teaches, "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."(Rom. 12:1-2) And "As we behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, we will be changed into the same image from glory to glory by the Sprit of the Lord." (2Cor. 3:18)
We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all of these are available to believers.
We believe that partaking of the Lord's Supper through Holy Communion or the Eucharist is a covenant sign through which we appropriate and experience the daily benefits of the shed blood of Christ . Jesus commanded we do this to remember Him. Remembering His covenant with us and drawing on its power by faith is the key to experiencing the reality of His abiding presence. As Jesus promised, "If you eat my flesh and drink my blood you abide in Me and I abide in you." (John 6:56)
We believe that the Lord's Supper may be taken publicly with other believers or privately in your own devotions as often as you wish. We believe in divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in the Redemption.
We believe in the 5-fold ministry gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist pastor and teacher to equip the saints for the work of service.
We believe in the priesthood of every believer.
